As the molecules proceed through the membrane fiber, oxygen and some fo the nitrogen molecules pass through the pores in the fiber and flow in the opposite direction.
The oxygen and occasional nitrogen molecules go through the pores in the fiber due to the high pressure in the membrane, and the size and other physical features of these molecules.
